C-Port Soon...

Hey guys and girls....Ok, next week I'm grabbing an ST Audio C-Port to use alongside my 16Trk Analog setup....Now the thing is, as alot of you probably know, the recording software in with it, Logic SoundTrack 24, is said not to work with XP...Now this is a problem...Being on an incredably tight budget, how am I gonna get 'round this one?...Does ST Audio do any swapover deals to accomidate these situations or do I have to wait another god knows how long to get the $$$ to buy more software...Or is there now drivers for XP or any way around it, ANYTHING?....Cheers guys!
 
Ahhhh....

Thanks....That what I thought...So basicly, people in my position with no money to add are screwed untill they decide to make XP drivers or lots of time elapses to buy other programs....I'm not bitching at ST-AUDIO, but i would've thought by now that they would accomidate for XP useres no?
 
Let me get this straight - are you saying there are no DRIVERS for the C-Port for XP, so it wont work with ANYTHING under XP - or are you saying that the Logic Soundtrack software does not work under XP?

I've been looking at a C-Port to replace my Gadget Labs cards, just because the Gadget Labs card has no XP drivers (doesn't work with ANY software under XP). I'd like to use the C-Port with Sonar 2.0.

Doesn't indicate drivers for XP for either one.

The C-Port itself has drivers for XP, but the recording software doesn't...The C-Port will run under XP, but the recording software included won't...That's my miff...
 
Yes, C-Port works fine under XP and even under 98SE using wdm drivers (for SONAR). For some systems it needs lots of tweaking (but it is common problem for all brands of manufacters)

The attached software Logic 24 bla bla is very simple and I found it useless for more serious work anyway, I simply unistalled it.
I do not believe ( see more at http://www.staudio.com/service/index.html) that emagic will EVER release XP (driver) version for this attached version of software.

Hasnt Emagic been taken over by Apple? I believe that all future versions of Logic are only going to be available for macs so you might as well learn to use a different sequencer from the beginning.

Although Logic 5 and below still has a PC version
Anything beyond 6.0 is mac only.....BASTARDS
 
ST Audio has drivers available for download for all versions of Windows. The original C-port shipped with Logic 4.0 (the lite version) for Win 98, but could not run in any version of NT. After a long wait, they supplied me with an upgrade for Logic Lite which runs in Windows 2000, but I haven't tried it in XP. I doubt that you'll be able to get a copy on short notice anyway.

WOOHOO...

Heya all....The C-Port was delivered bright and early today...Installation was a breeze and setting up the software was just as easy....Logic Soundtrack 24 that came with it was V4.8 which means works on 2000 and XP now....
Just getting started with it so I've nothing to report, BUT...Strange thing that's pissing me off is in Logic Soundtrack 24 V4.8 when I sent a channel to output 1/2 it actually goes to 3/4 like wise when I send a channel to 3/4 it actually goes to 5/6 and so on....The ST-Audio external links setup was done correctly so I think it's a bug in Logic or something....Anyone know about this one?...Cheers!
 
I've never seen or used this card before but just a suggestion... do you have an ASIO panel?

If you do, some allow you to repatch the outputs/inputs.
Have a look in there..

There is an asio driver, everything is patched the right way and all in's and out's are selected to asio (you can select a driver for each in/out), BUT, when the Logic Soundtrack24 program is loaded and I take alook at the setup panel for the card, everything is uneditable, you know when instead of all the options written in black and you can change them they're written in faded color and you can't change anything....And on top of that all chanels are still asigned to the asio driver exept channels 1 and 2 are reasigned to something else and of course I can't change that, but as soon as I shut down the Logic program it all changes back again...Does that make sence lol....

As for ASIO... as I said, I'm not using the same card, mine has an option.... can access control panel whilst using the application... see if that is there.

Use the uninstall utility available from the ST Audio website, and then reinstall your drivers. Make sure you use the correct driver for your model (ADC 2000). The disks often have drivers for more than one model. There's also a place to post questions at the ST Audio website, and you'll get an answer from someone who's an expert on that card.
