My sound chain is:
- SM58 mic / direct line
- Mackie 1202 VLZ PRO
- Midiman Audiophile 2496
- Cakewalk Home Studio 2002
The problem is that there is an occasionaly "surge" buzz in the recorded tracks. A quick "bzzt" lasting half a second, appearing every once in a while. Just about every track has this happening once or twice, at no particular interval or event.
The thing is, I don't remember ever hearing the buzz during tracking. We monitor out of the board, so I'm thinking that the buzz is generated somewhere downstream, after the board.
Is it possible this is generated by the software (CSHS 2002)? Or is there some electrical interference close to the computer that causes this?
If anyone has ideas on how I can find and catch this little mouse, I'd appreciate some direction.
Thanks.
