My guitar sound is great - very silent when the guitar is still. When I touch the strings (or some metal parts) there is a buzz.

I am guessing the wiring is causing this? If so, how can I fix it - and if not, what are the common causes of this?

Thanks!

What is this a fucking jesus website masked as a recording site?

I'll bet. Anyhow - Jesus is a false messiah, glad it was ended when it was!

Long live Judaism!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our prophet has not yet came!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, it is good of you to express your opinion. However, don't people who hold the Judaism faith believe Jesus was a good teacher? Can you not respect others of different faith?

jesus website?.....hardly!....i would guess atheists outnumber believers about 100 to 1....but everyone seems to get along fine for the most part, outside of a few trolls.......

so believe what you want....but i can assure you that yourself being labeled a troll by others has little or nothing to do with Jesus or who believes in him....it has to do with your rudeness......how can you expect much help after you attack a respected member of the BBS?.....

peace, brutha.....

trolls suck......

die troll die.....

but yeah it sounds like electrical problems....could be the grounding.....could be something else.....ive found that if i plug my 6-string into the amp, leave it chill, it gets touchy, maybe its just the guitar.......who knows

freak

...sounds like you have grounding/shielding problems...use a small amount of plain elmers glue to secure a layer of thin shielding (alum) onto the wood surfaces that encase your pots/wiring...also, check for properly wetted solder-joints, and that all wires are well insulated--or at least isolated from other parts/wires.

sounds like you have rectal problems...
but just to make this informative, most likely wiring/shielding problems :).

Take the pickguard off and make sure there is a wire connecting the bridge to the casing of each pot and any ground wires from your pickups. Finally, the wire should connect to the ground wire on the input jack.

That's what most manufacturers try to do. It might also be that you are in a very noisy environment, you body is acting like an antenna, and by touching the strings you are inducing noise into the signal chain. More common with single coil guitars, less common with humbuckers.

Try inserting a noise gate in your chain if nothing else works.

BTW, I've given you the benefit of the doubt, hope I'm not sorry I responded...

If jesus was alive to ask, believe me I'd burn him to death happily the little false messiah.

Wow.Now I can see why the jews and palestinians are killing each other.Thats some pretty rabid hatred you have for Jesus,I can only imagine how you feel about your neighbors.

Heres how you fix it

First go to your amp and look at the plug. Does it have one of those three pronged plugs? If so, cut off the round one and pug it back into the wall. That middle plug is part of your problem. If its a tube amp, remove the biggest capacitor in the amp and touch the leads to your tongue. If you don't feel anything from this, that cap is bad. If its not, you'll know it.

Next Experiment with plugging the wall plug in both ways(now that the . To make sure you are grounded properly remove your shoes, soak your socks in the sink and then put them back on first.

GIve that a try, and let us know how it works.

Try playing it in a tub full of water.Be sure and place the amp in the tub as well. This should cut down on a lot of noise, especially
from you.
