Buying my HD24 offshore....or should i??

In Australia the HD24 retails for $7000 ($3500 USD) but im going to Europe in a few weeks and can get one in Greece for $4500 ($2300 USD)

I know thats not much of a saving in USD but in Oz dollars its $2500, i can buy a lot of gear with that.

Problem is warranty, is it worth sacrificing my warranty for? Already were getting posts with problem on the unit.

Find your absolute best price in australia and then let the retailers rip each other to shreads to get your business after this have money on hand to back up the talk dont be scared to show them you will spend today look through the yellow pages phone everyone first till you cant get no lower on price then decide what you will spend and offer this up in cash as a buy now deal

Ive done this plenty of times and so far its worked well most times ive come equal to or under us dollar value some instances ive waited for people selling near new gear they buy it then cant use it and sell it off to you at a song save your bills get one big wad of cash then talk hard and fast and come home with the goods smiling its never failed me yet my last two purchases 2 new sm57,s for 35usd each with leads pouches etc not a scratch on them see what i mean

If it was a piece of kit that was inexpensive or technologically simple i.e. a diamond ring etc. then go for it , but when the item is as complex as the HD24 ???????

I think it would be a big risk.

i'm pretty sure billy hydes had 'em going really cheap, they have a small add in this weeks trading post, can't remember the price, but i know it wasn't anywhere near $7000aud, may have been $4k or $5k....

btw rnc's are going for $380aud at musiclab in elwood, (you were after a new comp too weren't you?)

Finally some action on this thread!

The best price i've found was $5999 without bargaining in europe the best price worked out at $4500 so thats a $1500 diff, but this is in Greece and they are more than likely going to stooge me or something ....so local is the go i think.( probly get it down to $5500)

I know Doc cheap for Oz huh! i still wanna get that drawmer but.

Ya got any friends in the STATES who can perhaps purchase the HD24 for you and then send it via overseas delivery!!??

Its not worth it MRQ ive tried that before, you can save money but you spend it asprin!!
