Buying Monitors in Europe

I've not seen Yorkvilles anywhere in the UK.

You could check out Rose Morris - www.proaudiostore.co.uk

Seem good for Tannoy, KRK, M-Audio stuff. Much more professional service than most other muso retailers. I've bought online from Millennium Music before and they were OK too.

You've probably seen the excellent reviews the Wharfedale Diamond 8.2's are getting around these parts (I have a pair). The passive hi-fi ones (which by all accounts are the same as the "studio monitor" ones) can be had for about £130 in a hi-fi shop. Paired with a good reference amp (eg Hafler) that gives you a very cost effective and good quality setup.

Germany will probably be the cheapest. I bought my equipment in the music store in Koln, and had no problem with them, and great prices.
