I'm new to music recording, I write music but am now begining to record.
Im currently seeking to purchase a
M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard,
a M-Audio Audio Buddy mic preamp,
and a Shure sm57.
I was wondering if anyone from ireland might have an idea as to how I should go about getting these - via a music shop (which ones) or online (what about excise duty etc). From what I've heard these items are reasonably cheaper in the u.s. than in the e.u. ...... anyway perhaps someone might be experienced at buying musical equipment and can help me.
ALso, maybe someone might be able to suggest a suitable monitor to complement the above items. My budget is 1000Euros($900) but would include the items listed above. Or perhaps someone has an alternative suggestion instead of the mic, soundcard and preamp ive already chosen. My music is instrumental and basically involves layering a few guitar tracks on top of each other.
