Hi,
My current settings is:

Cambridge 640c V2 CDP --> Yamaha 2400 AV amp --> (RCA > Balance) --> Yorkville active speaker.

I would like to improve the sound quality when listening the CDP and build a Karaoke system for my wife.

Based on the info in the internet, I think Mackie's DFX 6 suits my needs as a karaoke system.

However, I would like to know whether it will improve the sound quality when listening the CDP as I will change the connection as

listen music
1. CDP --> DFX 6 --> (balanced connections) --> Yorkville active speaker YSM1p.

enjoy movie
2. AV AMP -->DFX 6 --> (balanced connections) --> Yorkville active speaker YSM1p.

pls advice. thx a lot

Just call a techie @ Sweetwater and check out
if the "Mackies" work better or not. This is a free call and FREE service via the phone.

You can ask a service rep if you use one; if he/she doesn't know, then they will ring you into the Techie service. This may be much easier getting the info you want rather than using the info here.

thx for your advice. However, I am not living in America and so it's not easy for me to call the service rep. T_T

:rolleyes: Yo CHEN:

Can you call up GOOGLE and check out your problem in your part of the world? That might help.

Or, there might be a college/music/recording area and you might find someone to address your problem.

May the Elephant God "Ganish" [sp] guide you.

Cambridge 640c V2 CDP ..... does it have video outputs and play CD+G's ? That would be overkill for karaoke.
Karaoke files are usually poor quality audio, that will sound even worse on a good system.
Have you considered using a PC for your karaoke media playback and freeware KARAFUN http://www.karafun.com/karaokeplayer/ which can playback just about anything
Fun and exciting, it plays nearly every karaoke file: KFN, KAR, CDG, KOK, LRC, AVI, MPEG... The user-friendly KaraFun editor enables you to create, quickly and easily, your own karaoke songs from Audio and MIDI music files : MP3, OGG, KAR, MID...

Props for the Mackie Mixer :cool: It will serve it's purpose
