Okay so i need a new computer, because the one I have now is just killing me:mad:

I already read all the sticky threads and they wasn't really helpful. I know what cpu, ram etc is. I just don't know where do buy one and if I should order a custom one.

I'm using Cubase, s2.0 and i need something strong (not that expensive tho:D) that can handle it!

I ain't expecting you to tell me the exact model i need, but i am sure you can help me!

If there's any typos or something please excuse me!

What is it that you have now and why is it killing you? What are you goals for this computer? What is your budget?

It would be really easy to just say spend $1200 on a self build that will run circles around any recording project. But do you really need something that powerful? You can save a bunch by building a PC yourself but make sure you are comfortable putting the components together and be prepared to take it to a tech if something goes wrong. I personally would stay away from anything with less than 4 cores, but I need the CPU power. If you are only recording small audio only projects with a handful of VST's, then a dual core will probably suffice. Guitar emulators and VSTi's are going to eat away at a less powerful PC very quickly and trying to work around a systems limitations is far from creative or pleasant.

Give more info on what you plan to do on your next computer and I am sure others will give more insight.

BIG hint: Go to the websites of the companies that make audio computers and copy their specs.

They know what works and what wont have their customers coming back at them with baseball bats and pitchforks.

Just one example that fully lists their components: www.adkproaudio.com

Get someone to build you one. With the new Sandy bridge tech these days you can get a pc built for £400 that will wipe the floor of last years £1000+ machines... I'm not saying this from what I've heard, my friends built a few now, bench tested them and smiling a lot :D..
