Hi, my lady-friend has a traynor guitar mate 3, the one with reverb and tremelo and the bad 70ies styling. anyways, the eq knobs are all wonkey, the volume is fucked it can be on 8 and not over power clanking pans and it fuzzes in and out. it has no fuze but has a reset button like on a power bar.
the speaker is not the issue, tried it with my greenback. the tubes all seem to be lighting up and are not microphonic or at least from what i can tell from the limited volume.
Could it be the pots?
or is something else about to kick the bucket?

Do you know if it has ever had the power tubes or electrolytic capacitors replaced? That model appears to be near 40yrs old. Could be time for some refurbishment.

Couldn't hurt to spray some contact cleaner in the pots but that dosnt sound like the problem.

Got a good amp tech where you live? It's time to see the doctor, IMO.

could be separate issues... in any case it's time to see the doc... leaking caps in the tone circuit can cause nasties... low output sounds like new tubes are in order... may be time to get her to buy something new so you can have it refurbed...

yeah, i was kind of figuring it'd be $$$ time. Good thing the amp tech is only 4 blocks away. I was a good BF and gave her my little Frontman 15 for her to play with, all she needs when learning really.
thanks for the input guys :)
