BUSS recording with compressor on vf160

I've got my drums on tracks 1 and 2. I want a compressed copy of them on tracks 9 and 10. I plan on using both compressed and uncompressed tracks in the mix.
I'm thinking what I need to do is BUSS record tracks 1 and 2 to tracks 15 and 16 with the compressor on then use track exchange to get the compressed tracks to 9 and 10. Sound right?
I'll want to do the same thing with my bass track, uncompressed on track 3, compressed on track 11.

1. If you use buss record you could use the compression on inputs G or H and record with the compression already applied. You cannot apply EQ if you use this method.
2. Otherwise record to track 13 to 16, then apply compression as you submix 16 to another track.
