bus trouble with Emu

I'm having trouble with the effects that come with Emu and cuebasis. If i send one of my tracked channels to any of my bus channels they aren't sent to the master channel. What i think i might be doing wrong is sending the cuebase channel to the bus and the bus to the emu channel. If i do that its never sent to the master channel on cuebase. So how do i do this? (If this is poorly explained please tell me)

The E-MU 4040 comes with patchmix software. I always get everything confused when im trying to send the patchmix channels to the Cuebase channels. I know there are BUS' I can use in cuebase and patchmix correlates with it, but i cant ever seem to get it all to work. (the manual is crap). clear? maybe?
