I have an Olympus Digital Voice Recorder and I've used it successfully and have been able to download files to my laptop. I'm trying to burn some of the wave files to a CD and everything seems to work fine but when I try to play the CD it acts as though it is blank. Any ideas?

Are the files 44.1k 16-bit?

What software are you using to burn?

Are the files 44.1k 16-bit? Uh, don't know...how can I tell?

What software are you using to burn? Musicmatch Jukebox

Have you tried playing it in more than one cd player? Some of them are finiky about home burned cd's and some times it's worse if you only put 1 song on and don't fill up the cd a bit.

If music match is letting you burn it as a music file it should be an acceptable file unless it will burn mp3 cd's. You might want to watch out for that.

Personaly don't much like music match. had it once and had nothing but trouble, but it was a long time ago.

F.S.

does it say it's converting the sound file? becouse if it burns it as a WAV file, not many cd players will run it. you can use windows media player to burn it and it'll convert it for you. but I will be honest, I have no experiance using Musicmatch Jukebox.

edit: accually, what OS did he use? if you could send me a copy of his revovery disk, that could help me setup... maby

you must burn the 44.1khz, 16-bit wav files as AUDIO in your burning software. If you are just burning the data files, you won't be able to play it on a CD player.

Burning Waves to CD

Well, a combination of Musicmatch (convert files) and Roxio LE did the trick. I still don't understand why Musicmatch won't burn files coverted in the very same program. At any rate, this got 'er done.
Thanks!

If you burned it as a data CD, it won't play in a CD player. You need to burn it as an audio CD.

i had the same problem a few days ago. my burning software was set to write data CD by default. it drove me crazy though. haha
