should i burn my songs to disc (for listening) as mp3 or wav? will this effect the way in which they are imported from disc on another persons computer ?

very much so. MP3 is a compressed format and you will loose quality as a result. If you want to listen to it on a cd player, you should be rendering the file as a 16bit 44.1 Khz wav

Agreed - never *ever* record or convert to MP3.
MP3 is a low quality listening format and should *only* be done when everything else is finished and only to save low quality versions to listen to on an iPod (or similar).
