Well..... it's the first time i am experiencing as techinic... i ever recorded with my bands, but never on my computer with my self rulling everything....... so i am learning step by step....

i recorded my bass in line (my AMP to my soundboard), differently to the guitar that i used microphone.......

But i read here that it can "burn" my soundcard.... what is the limit ? Can't i plug my AMP to the soundcard? What exactly makes a Direct Box ?

Thanks !

Determine what input level is expected by your soundcard and what output level is provided by your amplifier. Go far outside this range on the high side (defined by your inputs) and you're on your own. On the low side you won't get enough signal. Typically- nay universally- line level rules. Not Mic level not Speaker level not Phono level, but Mad Max will use anything that's loud in the combination under review. Don't mind him.
