Sory if this is dumb...I haven't burned CD's very much:

Can I burn my recording onto CD and also add a wav file that cd be converted to MP3 at some later time? My guess is no, one the project is closed. Thanks.

Not sure I get your question but. Once the project is closed you're pretty much done. You could extract the wave file later from the cd and turn it into a mp3 at the same time using windows media player "rip" option. You would have to go into optiopns and tell it you want your "rips to be converted to mp3 format instead of wma (windows media audio).

Then you would have to put the file onto a new cd if you wanted.

Hoep that helped.

Thanks. I'm not sure I get my question either...

I'm recording/producing a show that will be posted to internet radio or podcast or something. So I'll give a CD of the finished project to my client/friend for him to have. But then he (or someone) has to have a wav file & convert to MP2 (I said MP3 but meant MP2) to upload to the radio station. I didn't know if I need to give him 2 separate CD's - one normal & one with a wav file only.?.?

short answer is yes... it's called a multimedia CD... I don't know how to make them off hand :)

Just ask him if he can do the conversions. I am sure he does it all the time.
If he's fine with it your done;) He may prefer to do them him self. He know exactly what encoding he wants.
Then you can just hand him a normal cd and your done.

He is going to have to dump the file of the cd you made onto the computer anyway. He can do the conversion at that time.

If you want it to play on a standard CD player you can only do the wave/CD audio file adding the MP3 will then make it a multi CD which can be added to as time goes by but won't play on a CD player unless it's made to do MP3s as well.
Just MP3 will be a data disc & you can opt to be able to add more files as you go until it's full BUT remember MP3 qual is way below CD & massively below the quality you should be recording at.
You would be best to ask your mate - so you don't stuff around & give him what is easiest for him to deal with - less bother - more chance you'll be cast.
