That might be your problem there. Reverb is a resource hog, make a few effects channels of reverb, 2 does me usualy and use them as send effects.... watch your glitches go

I wouldn't be using 8 tracks with reverb, I meant 8 tracks with varying plugins like reverb, compression, eq, etc.

Ordered my parts today for the new machine. Will be reusing my 19" rackmount Antec Case and 600W PSU. Can't quite do it on the same budget in the UK as you can in the US but here's what I got for my £500 limit.

1 x Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 95W G0 Stepping (Retail 775) @ 149.44GBP
1 x Asus P5Q iP45 Socket 775 Motherboard @ 98.84GBP
1 x Asus GeForce 7300GT 256MB Silent PCI-E @ 28.69GBP
1 x OCZ 4GB PC2-8500 Reaper HPC (2x2GB) @ 53.99GBP
1 x 250Gb Western Digital Caviar SE SATA 8MB @ 38.24GBP
1 x 22" Yuraku Widescreen Piano Black Finish @ 99.99GBP-----------------------------------------------------------------Order Total (inc.VAT inc. Shipping): 480.96GBP

Money to spare will get me the grace period upgrade from cubase studio 4 to cubase studio 5 that's been completely rewriten to make full use of the quad core. I'll have it linked to my Yamaha N12 and ofcourse I have space in there for the 3 UAD-1's I own and space in future for a couple of UAD-2's :D

Can't wait to get started on the build

Nice, man - I have a similar setup: q6600 + 4GB + 9800GX2, and Cubase is my bitch on this machine, :D.

I didn't know that about 5. I haven't seen a good reason to upgrade to 4, but full multi-core support will definitely get my $$.

/me scampers off to read up on this.

I would stick to newegg and build one. I've heard way to many horror stories with Tigerdirect. I'd just hate to see you run into a problem before you even got started.

I agree regarding building yourself, but not about the anti tigerdirect message. I have purchased loads of gear from both tiger and newegg. NEVER had a problem with a return from either. I think I have only had one DOA item from newegg and about 3 from tiger over the last 5 years, but both companies are a dream to work with.
