So - here's my story; I'm renting an apartment for the next 3-4 years (long story). It's great, but it has really thin walls and I can hear everything my neighbours do (and vice-versa). I do miss playing my guitar with the amp cranked up, but I'm just as concerned with being able to sleep through the night (I already have white noise and ear plugs).
I've used a sound meter and the noises from where I want my 'studio' to go are mostly around 65dB - with the loudest bangs capping out at just under 80db.
Here is a rough idea of what I want to build (but with a ceiling and a door):

Because this is an apartment, I can't touch the existing walls. But I do have a lot of questions
Like: Can someone help me understand the double/triple/quadruple leaf concept, as it applies to my situation?

Does this mean, if I build my walls with drywall on each side and insulation in the middle I'll end up with a four-leaf construction? Would I be better off *not* putting drywall on the outside of my room - and only on the inside (giving me a triple leaf?)
