Friends,

I'm at the very beginning of my computer building journey...

Keep in mind that this computer will be used for general computing and as a hard disk recorder... for the purpose of capturing stereo mixes from my 1/4" tape machine...

There will be no heavy tracking....

I'm thinking about getting a shuttle xpc barebone to start with...

I'm looking for suggestions on the what I need to pack it with...

I'm new to technical computer stuff...

Thanks dudes!

note, one thing that bothers me about the xpc are those "included audio ports"... those 7.1 thingys... I don't need or want that shit on my computer...

anything besides the xpc is also cool...

If you're just doing stereo tracks, pretty much anything out there will do it. You should look at which interface you're using and if the components of whatever PC you look at are compatible with it.
