Bubble wrap stuff

I'm not sure if this was discussed before, but can this material

be used as a sound absorber or decoupler between two heavy layers in an absorber?

I would imagine that an air gap would be better.

I don't think this would work aswell as alot of other stuff, I think your imagination is going a little far as this seems soft in a pysical sense not a sound wave sense. It's flat so the sound waves are still going to hit directly and bounce back to the recording source.
