Bss?

i recenty got a 4 channel BSS compressor/de-essor from a junk shop for £80. the problem is it has a really low ouput. I'm using un-balanced inserts on my desk, so i've wired the hot pin in and earthed the cold (and the shied). All four channels have exactly the same problem. Can any one shed some light?

If you are using the inserts on the board you need TRS jacks. Shield=ground and tip and ring are send and return. From your description, it sounds like you may have it wired wrong? It sounds like you wired both the ring and sleeve together unless I am misunderstanding your post.

yer, i wired the right, cos all my other compressors are on the same leads!

checked, it only has xlrs on the back. Unless theres a jumper inside.

goto soundcraft.com, they have a nice pdf format wiring diagram, dl it and check your wiring. even if it doesnt solve your problem, it would be useful to have.
