I was using my condenser mic when I realised something was wrong as it was making all kinds of noise. On closer inspection, I realised the XLR cable I was using had a broken connection on one of the signal wires (terrible workmanship I have to say... Who on earth soldered this thing?!
). Is there a danger of any lasting damage being caused from this oversight (either to my mic or my pre)? I'm thinking particularly about the phantom power aspect. Luckily I was able to spot there was something amiss quite early and so hopefully not! Think I've used the same cable with my active DI too...
