Broken Key

I have a Yamaha SY-55 synth and one of the keys broke and I'm unable to take it off and it just sits there caved in while the other keys are straight. If you hit that key hard enough, you can get some sound out of it but it's not like the other keys.

Is there a way that I could replace this key? If so, anyone know I could do it and where to get a replacement?

You have to take your keyboard apart and disassemble the keyboard assembly. Sounds like either the spring (or metal band) popped out or possibly the rear of the key where it clips to the frame broke. The former is most probable. The spring or metal band is probably floating around inside your synth so you could pop it back in. Best to do it soon lest it get loose onto a circuit board and short out something that would be expensive to fix. If it's a plastic piece that broke off, and it's floating around inside your synth, just remove the key and super-glue it back together.

DON'T TRY AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE TOP. Take your keyboard apart. Carefully. Learn how to maintain the keyboard assembly to avoid paying someone to do it. It's mostly a mechanical system and not too difficult to understand. You'd probably benefit from cleaning the circuit boards with some swabs, alchohol, and compressed air. You could also find the battery in case you need to replace it in the future, or at least to see if it's leaking.
