Another rolls off the production line in my album reassembly project. This collection (Life in Session) didn't have anything added or subtracted from it. It's just remix projects. This collection is stuff I wrote w/ my college drummer, John McLaughlin. He and I used to collab on a lot of stuff when we were working together, and over the years we assembled a lot of interwoven projects. So I took them all, whether he started them or I started them, and I put them all on one album.

That's what this is - and this is one of his that he brought to me to flesh out - as he would come up with melody concepts w/ lyrics, and then I would set them to music.

Any/all comments warmly welcomed.

Very catchy tune! It's funny, during my first lesson I went back and forth on the drums thinking they were too in front in the mix, but after a second lesson I think they are well placed especially when the song gets going, and really Drive the swing of the song. Song is really well mixed in my opinion, love the brass section, synth? Cool tune I really enjoyed it nice job!

It's weird, G. Even though John is a drummer (we've known each other since our teens), he plays exactly on zero of the tracks. They are synth drums via midi. The horns are some of my favorite samples as well. Horn synths are tricky.

This is, largely, John's song, made incarnate by me. At the time, he didn't know how to play any instruments. He'd have these ideas that he'd bring me and we'd flesh them out into songs like this. He have very clear concepts of what he wanted things to sound like, but I had to interpret this thoughts into music reality.

I've another I just completed off of our collaboration collection that I'm going to post up in a moment as well.

Mostly I'm sharing as I run through the remixes - letting folks just give it a spin and hopefully the multitude of ears will catch anything I missed.

Thanks for the listen, bud!
