I wish these buttons were a little stronger. Especially the Record Stop and Play buttons!!

What were they thinking? The should have made solid plastic buttons. Even wood could be better.

Has anyone made a button or found out how much it costs for a new one?

I am in pencil eraser heaven now....er...Hell!

This is a reply to all the MR8 button threads. I've had my MR8 now for approx. 1 1/2 years and my buttons are fine. Maybe it is just because I am easy on everything I own. In college and at work everyone makes fun of me because my shoes, clothes, car, computers, etc. last a long time. Maybe the buttons are fragile, but I always keep in mind the "click" in the button and only push hard enough to feel the "click". My buttons may cave in this afternoon, but so far they feel the same as they did when I took the unit out of the box.

KDGOSPEL,

1. How often do you use your recorder and for how long? If it just sits in your closet it will last forever. Ha! HA!
Seriously how often do you use it?
2. Do you work for fostex? Ha! Ha!

I definitely don't work for Fostex. I would probably make more money if I did.

I have two ten song demo projects that I did on the MR8, a collab song that was on the last homerecording CD, I record a lot of our group's practices just for reference to see what we need to work on, etc. I guess you could average it out that I have used it 1 week per month for approx. 1 1/2 years. Maybe this is not as much as everyone who has had problems with buttons?

I can relate to kdgospel, to an extent...

they used to call me ;
cellar "be careful or you're gonna break it" dweller :D
(slightly edited to retain anonyminity)

I am pretty gentle with my belongings, especially electronic products. I don't think I'm "overly" gentle though, I've never "minded the click", for that matter I've never noticed an audible click...

My play button is becoming much harder to activate of late nonetheless....

Maybe you were fortunate enough to buy an extremely durable MR8...?
 :D

The click is one you can feel and not hear.
I may have just not used mine as much as everyone else? I also bought mine before they got so popular and the demand to rush them out of the factory may not have been as high?
