Hey Everyone,

I'm a newbie here at homerecording.com and so far I'm glad I'm on board. I recently had another song of mine critiqued by a pro and they indicated that the recording was not broadcast quality. I've mixed it to the best of my ability but it's still not up to the standards of the industry. I need to take my music to the next level so any suggestions are welcome.

I'm currently using Nuendo 1.6 on a PC.

Thanks

There are any number of ways - right and wrong - in which he may be making that judgement. You need to ask him just what he meant by that, in what way did he not consider it "broadcast quality". And what kind of broadcast is he referring to? TV has an entirely different set of criteria than radio (there is no official "broadcast quality" specification that I'm aware of for radio, whereas audio for television does have some standards).

Or, better yet, make an MP3 of your track, stick it in our MP3 clinic here, and get some more opinions on just what you got there and what you might want to do to it.

"Using Nuendo 1.6 on a PC" has nothing at all to do with the sound. What's the front end? Mics, preamps - What's the room situation? What are you monitoring through? What are the core sounds like? How good is the talent? On and on and on...
