Greetings,

When I take the zip disc with a recorded mix on it from
the BR8 and put it in my computer's zip drive what type
of FILE will I see????

Thanks,
dave

your zip file in your computer will not open because it is a proprietery roland format that creates the audio file in your br8, if it created a .wav everything would be cool because you could import that into any type of multitracking software for more intense editing than the br8 offers

your zip file

Hi, Daveyo...

What you will find is a .aif file. And the previous poster is correct in his statement, from what I understand.

However, if you have an okie dokie soundcard in your computer, what you CAN do with the BR-8 is go from your BR-8's stereo line-out (RCA plugs I THINK)...into your soundcard's line-in (1/8" single male thingie...ok, so I'm no techno-weeny)...and dump your mix to your PC's hard drive. A .wav file is created thusly, and you can translate that to .mp3 if you wish. (.wav files are quite large)...After that process, if you have a CD burner, you can burn a CD from there. :)

Good luck. Enjoy. :)

Re: your zip file

Does that mean that the recording, after it is transferred to the computer is a monoaural recording rather than stereo, since there is only one input jack into the sound card?

Not as I understand it, no...

Actually, I believe it is a stereo jack...a 1/8" stereo jack...just like one which would go into your walkman or a unit such as that.
