BR1600 and pre amps

just wondering if any of the BR1600 users use stand alone preamps with their recording unit, or if they just rely on the built in preamps?
 
I just use the preamps in the Boss 1600, I also tried using the pre-amps on my Mackie 1402 and found that the preamps are as good if not better on the Boss 1600. I haven't come across a reason to use any outside preamp over the built in preamps of the Boss unit.
