Uncle Moondog and Timmy Rock on!

I listened through your tunes Dumby and my little seven year old daughter loves "New Goldfish" :)

Was all the Uncle Moondog stuff recorded at home with a BR-Studio ?

Apparently so...I attached the links in the first thread. One is from the Boss newsletter and the other his website address.

I've managed to obtain equal quality from my instruments as uncle moondog and this other guy in here kevin1600. but I'm still working on vocals, I'm finding the internal pre-amps a little tricky in making and tweaking my own patches so they "fit" as far as quality goes. I realise I need to upgrade my microphone and perhaps use the closet trick. I have been suggested to use an external pre-amo. Also, listen to Gorty's tracks (you'll find him in here somewhere also) he has great recordings musically and soundwise using a BR studio.
I will have a link soon so you can hear my stuff on here sometime in the near future.

Hey Dumby thanks for your good comments about my stuff. you said you have problems recording vocals, what kind of mics do you use? :) :p :p :p :p :p

My mic is the center of my problem, it's a Shure PG-48...Meant for assembly speeches and whatnot according to the box...I'm buying a practice amp this week for my drums so I'm going to have to postpone upgrading that for a month or so. I've narrowed down the patches I like in the BR with my voice and now I"m going to start playing with the settings to imrove the sound from there as much as possible. I'm hoping that getting a better mic after this is done will only increase the quality.
Which patches did you start off with if you don't mind sharing? Assuming they're the same in the BR1600.

On the band demo I didn't use any of them since I was recording 8 tracks live (2 out of the PA mixer plus 6 mics on insturments) this was SM58's for vocal mics. On the few overdubs I did I used the 58 and my DIGITECH Vocalist harmony machine! If you record in 8channel mode the vocal sounds aren't on.The processor only works on solo or stereo recording. It's doing other stuff in 8 channel mode. ;)

LDC= Large Diaphragm Condenser Mics .They need 48V phantom power to work but they sound great on voice and acoustic instruments ,they might help your vocal tracks. :) :) :p

No dude, I just have the piece of crap mic as listed above...but I"m holding on to it anyways for now. What mic and patch if there is one, did you use on your tune "Aftergig"?

On that I used a cheap SP B1 LDC plus one of the vocal patches but I can't remember which one.The vocal patches are pretty good on the BR1600.I had to sell it to pay taxes . I just bought a VS-1880 on e-bay for $415. You should buy a better mic, a Shure SM-58 dynamic is a good first mic to get since you can use it live or in the studio. $99 at musicians friend. :) :p :) :p :) :p :) :p :) :p :) :p

MattKw80...as promised days ago

Cut and paste my soundclick link at the bottom...I put a tester tune in there I whipped up earlier by myself real quickly so don't judge my performance or the mix. But it paints a rough picture of what I'm trying to achieve soundwise with my tones. I want to finish my songs properly before I post them in there.
I used my TD-3s, and the rest of my crap listed below.

Sounds good dumby. What did you use to record the 1st guitar part IT SOUNDS FAT! Is that the BR sounds or your mic? I just got my VS-1880 it's really nice! I opened it up and it has 1 effects card in it,which I was not expecting.I already recorded with it it,kinda like the 880 EX I had but way better! :) :p   ;) :p :)  ;)

Both my guitar patches I made up using my GT-8 direct to the BR, therefore achievable with the BR but I find it too tedious without a pedal and knobs at my feet. My bass is a stock BR patch (eq'd to fit) and my drums are TD-3's direct using a mic patch in the BR I modified.
