O.K......I bounced down two separate tracks to one single stereo event and I saved it, (Sonar 1.3). Now two weeks later I decide that I want it back to two separate tracks. I tried the separate Lft and Rt events in the 'Edit' menu but that just makes two Lft and Rt tracks with both instruments on the tracks.

Can I make it back to the way it was? :(

Please help.....(you's guys alway's come thru....). :D

Highlight the track, and then select the Edit -> Bounce to Tracks command. From the pop-up window, go to the drop down arrow next to the word Format, and choose Mix to Separate Left and Right Tracks.

And Bingo!!

P.S. Next time don't delete the original tracks. Just archive them and hide them in Track Manager if you want. Like Hansel and Gretl, always leave yourself a way back. :)

That is exactly what I did and all that does is make two separate Lft and Rt tracks with both instruments on them.... :(

Is that because they were mixed during the bounce? If they weren't hard panned then they were blended..?

That's what it sounds like to me, also. If the two mono tracks were both panned center when you did your mixdown, then both instruments are going to be on both the L and R sides of the stereo track.

You gave us the impression that you had one instrument on the L and one on the R. To have done that, the mono tracks should have been hard panned before your initial mixdown.

If that wasn't the case, you're unfortunately s.o.l at this point.

Yep.....I'm clear on that. :(
Thanks guys......(it sucks being so anal about these things). Oh well... lesson well learned!
