Yeah I know, Aardvark went under but I just couldn't sell my Q10. The preamps are really good and it's so easy to use. Got the second one on eBay last week for $355. Hooked it into my system, made a couple of quick changes in the Preset window and it's up and running. I finally have 16 inputs at once. Shame statement: I'm still using Win 98SE with Cakewalk PA9 but I'll be doing a clean install of XP Pro and Sonar 4 next week. Just wanted to make sure everything worked before upgrading my software. Can't wait.

I do (I think somewhere on one of these discs...haha), holler at me if you need em ha.

Mistake? Can't say it was a mistake. It's always done everything I needed it to do. It's really a shame the company went under but these things happen. I figure I'll get a couple of years use out of the dual Q10 setup. By that time something will be out better than the Presonus Firepod to replace it.

Yeah I downloaded all the drivers back before they went under. Plus there's an
Aardvark support group online with the drivers. The guy I bought the new Q10 from also sent the couple of different drivers available for XP so I should have it all covered. I plan on formating my drives and go with a clean install. Don't need any Win 98 files laying around to foul things up. Thanks Shack.

Have you got a link for the Aardvark support group--I had it, but can no longer find it. Thanks.

I've been quite satisfied with my Q10 for almost 3 years now. I've no plans for switching.

I'm thinking of doing the same, but with Samplitude...please post how it works out and/or if you run into problems.Mine is still working great with the last 7.13 drivers and Samplitude 7.23a!

Please note the latest drivers available are stable on WinXP, but only Service Pack 1. The Q10 drivers will *never* run correctly under SP2.

I proved this conclusively by doing a series of tests building an XP Pro system from Base (no service packs), then SP1 and finally SP2. During each build, I installed all the Windows maintenance.

The installation of SP2 broke the Q10 drivers very noticeably. This is not a Q10 problem per se, as SP2 broke a massive amount of commercial code. HP, IBM, Intel, etc, refused to install SP2 for many months after release, due to the amount of problems it generated. The fix was the driver vendors having to rewrite their drivers to accomodate the new set of rules introduced by SP2.

Since Aardvark is Chapter 13 (read: dead), new drivers ain't gonna happen. My system is XP/SP1 and working flawlessly with the last Q10 drivers.

Beezoboy reported his Q10 having muddy bottom and rolled of highs. I'm not hearing that, so YMMV. I'm pleased with the two Q10 I own, but I am aware they are throw-away technology since Aardvark is now dead. Pity.

Yeah, it's a shame, they are great interfaces. I've been thinking of getting a second one too, but been holding back because I know once I go to 64bit (which will happen eventually) it's not gonna work.

Bruce, I'm sure glad you told us that! My DAW is rock solid with SP1 and Aardvark, so I'm glad I haven't tried to mess with it.
