Anyone like the distortions on the GT6 guitar effects processor? I am only really happy with a few distortions on it. The metal is the best, and sounds not too "fake" = processed.

It's my understanding that the distortions in the GT-6 are the same as in the stand alone pedals (correct me if I'm wrong).

How long have you had it? I've found that any "multi" pedal that I have takes a bit of tweaking before you really get what you want. I've actually worked on several of my "standard" settings for 3 or 4 days before getting them just right.

Ive had mine for about 1 and a half years now. I am liking it.
I dont know if that will be true about the distortions being the same as the stand alone pedals, might be what BOSS want people to think though by sly advertising. Out of interest why did you think that the distortions were the same?

Yeah I found that all the factory presets are rubbish. I made all my sounds from scratch. But i just purchased a PRS McCarty soapbar so I need to totally change all my sounds to suit the guitar! My old guitar was an Ibanez S-Series. thinest guitar in the world!!

Weird...I'm running an Ibanez S series through a GT-6! Most of the recording I do is used with the various Rectifier patches, and yeah I'd have to agree with you on those sounds...not quite "there", ya know? The one distortion preset I do like is the "Crying" one (10-1, I believe). Very good lead tone when playing live, but due to the ridiculous amount of processing on that sound, it sounds like complete shit when trying to record it.

So. The big question, is it possible to get a good recorded sound from a GT6 distortion?

I mean Ive heard people using PODs direct without an amp to get a pretty decent and almost beleivable recorded distortion, so shouldnt it be possible to get a decent distortion recording from a GT6 and a tube half stack?
