I've got a BOSS Dr. Sample 303 on lay-a-way at the music store my friend works at. I'm wondering if anyone has used it and what their experience has been?

What do you planning on doing with it?

I never used a 303, but had the 202 for a week or so when it first came out and found it very limited, so I returned it. Sampling time is limited, pads and sequencer are basically useless. FX are just okay.

It doesn’t seem like the 303 is a huge upgrade (just better FX and more sampling time) and for the price there are probably much better options out there.

I plan on using it for voice sampling/effecting on dance and experimental music productions. I'm getting it brand new with 3 yr warranty for $199.00, it retails for $350.00+.

he 303's advantage is it has an onboard sequencer...
the thing that was clearly missing on the 202...

and eh...
WHO?

Did you just ask WHO?

MADLIB!!!

:)

I finally got it!

w00t!

It sounds great and the effects are kewl! I bought two SmartMedia cards off eBay for it. I like the [EXT XOURCE] function a lot, I'm sure I will use with the turntables. It has lots of BANKS for storage, but the maximum sample time is relitively short.....I'll check the manual to see if it can be extended somehow.
I can't wait until I have more time to sit down with it. The sample stretching dunftion lloks kewl as well, but I have'nt used it yet.
