Boss DR-770 - Recording midi in cubase

For the first time, I tried to record midi in my new Cubase. I started out by hooking up my DR-770 through my Delta 1010. I first noticed on the transport bar that I was not getting any midi signal. I then looked at the 1010 and the midi lights were not lit.

So, I thought, well why don't I try routing it through my EZbus. Still no go.

My next thought process was, boy am I a novice and I just don't know what I'm doing.

I then decided to hook up my keyboard to the 1010. Guess what. It worked without any problems.

If anyone has any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong, I would surely be greatful if you shared them.

Never mind, I figured it out by myself last night. The problem was in the midi setup of the DR-770. It was set to midi thru. Once I turned it off, it worked like a champ.
