Boss DR 550 MKII

Just stumbled over the Boss 550MkII in my house. It was my girlfriend's ex's.

I don't have much drum machine experience at all.
So what's the feelings on this little unit.
Should I make use of it or spring for something newer and updated?

Make use of it! If you don't have much experience with a drum machine then you have a great starting point. Congrats on the find. Wish I was that lucky! You know, maybe stumble across a 24 channel Mackie or something.

I notice that using more expensive e-drums gets trashed pretty good around here.

BTW, he owned a Mesa Boogie but didn't forget to take that.
