PLEASE CAN ANYONE ANSWER ME..Boss DR-5 question

Hi, Does anyone know if I could plug my electric KAZOO into the guitar-in of the BOSS DR-5, And play the keyboard sounds in real time. In other way, Can I just hum the tune using the electric Kazoo to produce keyboard SOLO. If so, Does the sound play good,Or it has some latancy, and choppy notes?
I bought my DR-5 And it's on the way to me. I just need to play keyboard SOLO while playing CONGA, along with my band. Someone told me that the only way is to use PITCH TO MIDI interface, As he mentioned the BOSS DR-5. But I don't know if it works well or it has LATENCY and CHOPPY notes

Hmmmmmm......

I can honestly say I've NEVER tried *that* with my DR-5.

It doesn't track well. I can make it stutter when just plugging my guitar into it at home. Your pitch would have to be damn near perfect, or at least in-pitch with the unit. The DR-5 can get choppy sometimes, usually depending on your attack and playing ability.

I don't know how much experience your band has playing with a click or pre-recorded track. Here's some ideas to think about...

*You could program the entire percussion track AND the solo.
Depending on how long the solo is, that could get tedious. The end result is that task being taken care of and your hands are free to do something else through that song. You & your band would have to get used to that format, because it wouldn't be something you could change on the fly unless you can recite the DR-5 manual in your sleep.

*You could program the entire percussion track and just have the keyboard sound selected, ready-to-go. Then, when the solo comes around, you could play your piano solo using the keypads -OR- with a guitar plugged in. Again, your hands would be free for most of the song and you could still retain the freedom to create a different solo each time you perform.

*You could just create one percussion patch, no beginning, no end. You would have to monitor it, but your hands would be free...you'd be able to have your piano sound up and ready-to-go when the solo comes around. The plus for this option is that the band is free to play the song as long or as short as they prefer.

In any event, everyone would need to be able to hear the percussion track at all times. Not everyone can play with a click track or pre-programmed drums, and some people need to practice to get used to it.

I'm don't know dick about recording, but I've been playing live for years. Don't overwork yourself, man.
