I'm considering getting this unit and I wonder if anyone has an opinion on it. It knocked me out when I heard it in the music store but I wonder if it is flexible enough for songwriting and demo production.

Thanks

Rick

Rick, I don't have any opinion's on the machine, but was wondering if it sounded as good as a dr670 or dr770? I'm in the market too and haven't heard one yet.

I have a dr5

Provideing it is similer, What I have works great for demos, especialy when you pan out left and right on the sinph type instrumemts. You definitely want to use some kind of limiter between your device and the recorder. It will make recording much more managable.

I bought it today and I love it. Its a twin footpedal operated drum machine with GREAT sounding drums. Most of the patterns are cool right out of the box. 3 different beats and fills per pattern and as I read it fully programable. I'm using it already to try out updated mixes of some of the old stuff I've written.

Got it for $185. Pedals and power supply extra. I lost my drummer about 8 years ago and I finally have something I can make sound live. I'm very impressed. It also has a bass accomp. feature but as I have a bass I dont see me using it. I will be recording originals with it and I think it will work great.

Check it out if you just need great sounding drums at a killer price but they seem very hard to find (had to wait for mine).

That's cool Rick. Glad to hear it's a good machine. Let us know when you get some track's with the machine's sound's on them. Have fun...........Joe:D
BTW, where did you get the drum machine at?

I went out and got myself a DR-3 too. Got it for $169.00. It sure beat's my old TR-626. It doesn't sound half bad and variation's are tremendous. Too bad I can't have real drum's where I'm living, but these should do well enough. You can do multi-band compression, EQ it out, adjust for room size, and reverb too. Everything on it is adjustable. Though I probably won't be using the bass sound's, they do sound suprisingly good. I was preparing for something cheesy, but they were cool.
Joe

Yes...I like mine to...I believe you can program the bass notes to play with the patterns but I havent got that far yet. I really like the 2 foot pedal option...Start/Stop and verse change (and almost anny function you need is programable), makes jamming and songwriting pretty easy.

Been working a lot but as soon as I get a demo using it I will let you all know. BTW if you buy this you really need those 2 pedals to really enjoy all that it can do.
