Boss BR1180 I need help!!!

Hello, thanks for reading this. I am having problems with a boss BR1180 that I rented....ok I have a marshall jcm 2000 100 watt head which I am using the XLR out into the recorder, and I am also using a bass guitar directly patched into the 1/4 inch. My guitar levels are awesome (despite the RF im getting) but once I plug the bass in and lay down a track, then unplug it and go to use my guitar (the XLR in) my levels are sqaushed down to nothing and I have to crank the preamp up to the point where I can clearly hear radio stations.....lol. Why is this happening???? Can anyone help me?? Thanks.
 
I have the BOSS-1600....not sure exactly what your problem could be, but one suggestion would be to check effects. If it is set to a bass effect, it could affect high end guitar effects.....just a suggestion.....

This may sound crazy. Try taking your 1/4 inch and sliding it in and out of the input jack on the BR a couple times. There seems to be a glitch with the BR1180 where the signal can get cut off when removing the 1/4 inch cable form the machine. This drove me nuts for weeks before I solved it.

Let us know if that works.
