BOSS BR-1600 or Behringer DDX and computer

hi,

I'm wondering what way to go ..

1. buy me a BR-1600 all-in-one solution
2. buy me a digital mixer with optional cards so I can link it to Cubase

both possibilities will cost almost the same
(I already have a mac - so don't need to buy that if I go for option 2)

but I really don't know what will be the best

I'd like to be able to record live and track-per-track

pro for the behringer, is that I can also use it as a live mixer for small gigs

Personally,I would vote for a DAW setup using your Mac if it has a decent processor, plenty of RAM, and a PCI slot or firewire port. All-in-one solutions are fine for some people, but I never felt that they had enough room for adding things later on. As your recording skills and budget change, you may want different preamps, improved converters, etc.

Comfused,
If you do decide to go the all in one, the Boss BR1600 is a very good start. Everything needed is on board, a very compact easy to use rig. You wont be dissapointed!
