Books?

Hi everyone,

Basically, my current job is so damn boring its unreal! Basically i sit there for 7 hours doing absolute nothing! im not allowed to read books, apart from learning material, which is where you lot come in! Basically, considering i have hundreds of hours spare, i may aswell do something resourceful with my time and read some Music Tech books. I was just wondering if anyone has any they can recommend? I know my stuff pretty much, so nothing to 'basic' but i want something that just runs over pretty much most things.

Like usual, any advice/recommendations are highly appreciated

by Music Tech do you mean recording in general or computer recording?

Either.

Anything regarding music tech that i could just read whilst im at work. Something which ill find interesting, and learn stuff.

Start with the Craig Anderton library.

one of the most easiest books to read that i've found is Recording Tips for Engineers by Tim Crich. He makes techniques and definitions of terms very easy to understand. It starts pretty basic on how sound works and what microphones do, but then gets into mixing techniques, how digital audio works, and studio tips. Even if you already know most of the stuff in there, it's good just to have the book around for reference. I'm reading it again just to bone up on some of the basic stuff I may have forgotten. He also wrote the Assistant Engineers Handbook which is pretty well known among people.
