Can anyone suggest a/some really good books on MIDI? I find myself sorely lacking in this aspect of music and recording and would like to increase my knowledge in this area.

My Audio Expert book includes a lot of information about using MIDI and synthesizers, as well as technical details. Though it's not inexpensive because it covers much more than MIDI.

And honestly, I think your book would be of interest to anyone interested in music, recording, and audio in general.
