Hi guys

Do you have any good recommendations for books to read on mixing and recording? Maybe a little more advanced than beginners books?

Understanding Audio by Daniel Thompson
Mixing Audio by Roey Izhaki
Modern Recording Techniques by David Mills Huber

If you want to browse what's available without searching through a bunch of irrelevant search results, check out the recording studio book catalog at www.independentrecording.net. There are close to a hundred book titles organized and displayed into 9 different categories related to audio engineering. Just go to that website and click on the Studio Reference Book Catalog icon towards the bottom right of the front page.

Yeah, you caught me. My keyboard was running short of "e"s earlier today and I was trying to conserve. I thought I could get away with it :(.

Actually it's not entirely my fault this time; the Amazon page for the mic technique book has it spelled "Mills", even though the Recording technique book has it spelled "Miles".

That's OK, though; all the links still go to the right places.

check out the Handbook for Sound Engineers by Glen Ballou

I know it's a bit expensive but it has EVERYTHING. It's the kind of thing you need to read in short segments though.

I also like bob katz' books on mixing and mastering.
 
I would *highly* recommend Mixing with your Mind By P.M. Stavrou. A very unconventional book, but a great book nonetheless. It's quite expensive to buy but seriously worth the investment, I think it's a brilliant book.
