Strangely I watched the Moog film last night for the first time. Aside from what he gave the world of music it struck me what a thoroughly decent man he seemed to be.

A sad day indeed.

Man That Sucks................. :(
I am a huge fan of Bob's and his synths and work.

My friend was good friends with him and is good friends with his family.

the world has lost a pioneer.

Regardless of being European, I would like to remind those US folks that perhaps failed to learn so.

But many people consider New England as : Moognited States of ARPmerica ;)

Although Moog was invented in New York, considering where all parts mostly came, it can safely be considered New Englander as well ;)

Land where Synthesizer as such was born.

(ARP, Kurzweil, Synclavier, Aries, Moog)

I found this out yesterday. I was very sad. I have no idea why, i dont own any moog products or know anything about them.

But i still felt that the world has suffered a great loss. :(

May he rest in peace.

Hope moderator can find/trace this "creative" author, because Moog is the last person who deserves such disrespectful remark.

Very sad indeed.

Yeah, I got a negative rep for my comment on Moog's sad passing as well - unbelievable! Who are these pathetic morons?

Here's what they said

If only he had died, like, 40 years sooner, we could have been spared the torture of "Switched on Bach." Nothing good has come of Moog.

Anyway, you got a positive rep on the way from me to balance it out. :)

I had the privilage of meeting Bob Moog when I wrote the manual for the Radio Shack "mini-Moog". He was one of the most gracious people I've ever met. The world has lost a true pioneer.

Terrible. Moog went hand in hand with electronic music and synths in general for decades. Truly a major blow.

Interesting,

Someone actually took time to selectively share his observations... and share them one on one. At least he used some gray matter in response to you, while mine is , well, obvious ;)

WHAT a jerk.. seriously hope this moron can be tracked and kicked out of this forum.. I got this message:

moron

Moog was definitely a major genius when it came to analog synths. My brother and I had a MicroMoog for years, and although for us it was a glorified "noise maker", it was still cool to play around with, just to see what kind of strange sounds you could get out of it.

A guy I know - my digital recording instructor at the local community college - went and stayed with Moog one summer during the early 80's, and he spent ages just messing with the synths at his house - he said it was a keyboard player's dream. The Late Professor William Hoskins at Jacksonville University (Ran the Electronic Music/Recording school) was good friends with Moog, so a few of his students went up there one summer to evidently help Moog remodel his house.
