Blue steel strings

Hi,
I would like people's opinoins on these strings if they have used them. They are dean markley blue steel.

I can't seem to get hold of any from local shops and want to give 'em a go. They say they can order me a box of 12 sets in but I don't think I'll be doing that until I've tried a set. Anyway, an opinions?, they aint cheap.
 
i use nothing else. My favorite is the 11-52 set. I use the 10's on some guitars too. I've used them for over 10 years. They break very rarely, stay in tune well and feel right to me. When you first put them on they sound a bit bright, but give it a few hours and they sound fantastic. When ever I use other strings, in a pinch, they never work out -- especially GHS and D'Addarios. I tried DRs too and didn't like them either. btw, you to sheetmusicplus.com. They have them for really cheap. i order a bunch at a time there.
 
I used them for a while when they first came out, they are good strings, but no better than Ernie Ball Slinky, I don't like GHS or D'Addarios either, I don't know what they cost these days but they were twice as much as other strings early on, try a side by side comparison with Earnie Ball, you probably won't find a difference, except price.

Blue Steel Strings

When I play my hands sweat and cause the strings to sorrode rather quickley. I found when I use blue steels they seem to hold up quite well to the salt attack of sweaty hands.

I always found Blue Steels to be too bright/sharp sounding when you first put them on, and after they are broken in I think they are too spongy feeling and dead sounding.
 
Get ready to get a new fret job, those things tear the shit out of frets.
 
I was dense enough to put a set of .12's a guy had given me on my American Standard Strat and they pulled my bridge up out of the body. No big deal, as I needed a setup anyway. But I'll never use 'em again.
 
Thanks for the replies; I'll will give 'em a go, I always intended upon it, the replies do noy so far seem to be overlly consistent; I guess it's a matter of taste (and money). Thanks for the input; any more welcome.
