Hey guys,

I've been saving up for my first condenser for recording vocals and acoustic guitar. I've been looking at the blue spark and blue bluebird and am wondering what people would recommend. Is the bluebird worth the extra $100? Or would you reccomend a different mic in the 200-300 price range?

Thanks :)

I consider the 2 mics very similar. I prefer either one to AT2020. For those applications, I'd scope out ebay and look for a used AKG C200B, which can be had for about $150. I prefer it to all of the above. My usual entry-level suggestion is MXL V67G, but I don't like it as well on acoustic as I do on vocals. C2000B will not let you down. That's just my opinion. YMMV. -Richie
