Mind you, I am new to this and just a hobbyist. I used a top of the line Martin HD-28 guitar and had the 8 Ball directed at the 14th fret as they suggested in the Blue manual. The microphone was going into a DBX mic preamp with a touch of EQing and then into the line in of a M Audio Fast tracks USB interface.

It sounds a bit mid-scooped to my ears, but not bad by any means. Someone on another forum suggested putting a SM57 directed at the soundhole a foot or so away to fill out the tone a bit.

Anyhow, what do you think?

These recordings are quite unremarkable, 'eh? I think I had the level too high on the second recording. I bet a middle of the road between the two recording's signal levels would work better.
