What are the tell tale signs of a bad capsule, besides the microphone sounding like crap. Or perhaps one that is maybe just slightly damaged?

What is your microphone doing that it is raising this concern?
I think a blown capsule could do any number of things - become extremely reduced in the range it picks up (if not completely dead), lose a lot of output volume from what you are used to, output excessive noise, output only noise...
That's all I can think of at the moment
