Loved it all except I think the piano should be dropped more onto the mix and you should break away from the chime for a second and then come back into them to add definition. The kick sounds kind of hollow. I would add a sub unless that is the sound you were going for.
Sounds good
what is the tempo of that cut.
Keep it up Rat Daty.

Thanks for peepin it out soundboy....

I think you are commenting on droping tracks in out right? If so I agree..... Or are you referring the eq of the piano track?

Kick sounds hollow I have frequencies boosted around 60hz - 125hz I will have to compare this mix to mastered mixes...

I believe the tempo is 95 BPM not exactly sure when I get in the studio I will check that out for ya.....

Thanks again dogg....

It could just be the mp3. if not you might want to compress the kick. I was saying pull the piano back it comes in so loud over the rest of the song. if you bring it back down just by being a piano it will draw attention and sound more in with the mix. what type of software are you running, cubase, acid, logic? I have been experimenting on not boosting the freqs to much in the mix and just trying to get a better sounding sound for the kick by changing the tone compressing it and then boosting it in the mix it has worked for me. You could also duplicate the drum track if it is midi and run it through a sub vsti or a bass harmonics vsti to add a fuller sound just to the kick. Did you play the strings or are they sampled. Yeah man....

I mix with Nuendo... The kick track is doubled with one of the tracks having half the velocity of the other.... I agree with the piano it needs to sit in the mix better it also needs to fill the mid range a little better as welll......

I make my tracks with an Akai S2000, Studio Vision Pro 3.5 (seq) and Sample Cell along with a number of sound modules.....

I've been up 2 days str8 AND WHILE PEEPING POSTS I GOT MUCH TOO SLEEPY AND WANT A BEER. tHIS WAS MY LAST ONE TO VIEW BUT I'M TIRED AS.... i 'MA HIT YOU BACK THOUGH.

dAMN key.... Shit I'm out.

2 days no sleep I was fallin asleep looking at the damn screen...Shit was moving like some Screw shit around me.

Alright...

Hold up... It's like the longer I listen to some of your tracks the more they start to making sense to me. It's like I gotcha catch you tuning or something. A mintue ago I would've said I wasn't feeling the string hits but now they sound right. I don't think they really go with that bellish sounding sample but I hear how they go in this track. Layering those samples with pans and different filter blend the tuning some and make skins crawl. Also is there a slight lag in a kick somewhere?

Anyway I'm digging it.

Remember 2 back where I said it grew on me the longer I listened. WTF... You got subliminals and shit in your beats.:D

yeah man I guess I try an catch listeners with different elements.... Not your everyday kid...... Thanks for peeping as usual Lazi......

i'm not dyck riding or anything but the joint is phat

i'm not really listening to it from and engineers point of veiw, i'm peeping it from a rappers standpoint. it's not a beat i would normally flow to cause my dominant style is more grimey, but i can envision ya man common lighting that joint up. peace
