i am using cakewalk and recoring in auido onto my computer when i go to record tracks after i record the first onoe they bleed into the next track until it all sounds muffled how do i record and listen at the same time without it bleeding over i use head phones in my mixer but even when i unplug the mixer it still bleeds into the computer so it is something in the computer that i am not doing right please help

Somewhere on the soundcards mixer (not in Cakewalk) you can choose which source you want to record from...check off Line In, not anything like Stereo Mix or Loop (or whatever SoundBlaster calls it) ......

spdif line?

so dont check the spdif line but the line in only ?

In the soundcard's mixer window look to see if the "record what you hear", "mixer input", or something to that effect is checked. If it is checked, then uncheck it.

checking

there is no check or uncheck for it i can only switch it between devices so i put it on mic control since i dont have a mic hooked up into the sound card is that allright and thank you for your help
