This might not fit this format but here goes. I have a massive collection of "Black Platter's" that I would like to burn to disc. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Are you talking about vinyl records? If you are, get a turntable... output the turntable to a phone pre-amp, send the phone pre-amp's signal to an analog to digital converter that is either connected to a computer or a stand alone CD burner.

If you really want to get fancy, by some CD labeling software.

as well as fletchers excellent points....there is a raft of audio restoration
software at hitsquad.com you can try. just in case you need to do some cleaning up on the pc prior to burning a cd.
also just a couple of examples ....magix have a product called audio cleaning lab, and tracertek.com have one called dart audio restoration tools.
abd there are many many others. for a cheap approach search under google and download the original cool edit 96. it has a noise reduction algorithm in it that can be usefull and various filtering options. also sound forge has some very nice tools as well.
peace.
