I heart guitars!
Hi guys. Not been around here for a while, and wanted to vent some steam - so I thought I'd do it here by way of a comeback.

I've just been lucky enough to get hold of a Gretsch Elliott Easton - the most beautiful guitar in the world. One gig down, and it's time for a string-change (yes I know I should have changed the store strings before the gig, but they seemed OK, if a little light for my tastes).

So...

...I've never owned a guitar with a Bigsby before...

...AAAAARRRGGGHH!

It took myself and our bassplayer twenty five minutes to re-string the damn thing.

Rant over...

...but what an utterly daft design - what's everyone else's opinion on the trem of all horror?

...and relax...

They are a pain in the ass till you get the hang of it... They just look so freakin cool to me.. Excellent guitar by the way..

Change 1 string at a time, and use a capo at about the 5th fret to hold the string so it won't fall off the pin on the bigsby. Works like a champ.

yep, it takes me 3 min. more than a normal guitar to string my silver jet....btw ... ever showed up at the www.gretschpages.com forum??? - lots of good G-stuff - and very levelheaded folks, too

cheers
alfred
